What is Valeda Therapy?
Valeda uses specific wavelengths of light to energise the cells in the retina, promoting healing and reducing inflammation. This process is known as photobiomodulation, a technique backed by years of scientific research. The therapy is particularly beneficial for those in the early to intermediate stages of Dry AMD, as it helps protect the retina from further damage while potentially improving visual function.

The LumiThera Valeda Light Delivery System (Valeda) was created for delivery of PBM treatment for ophthalmic conditions . Valeda was developed with eye safety at the forefront and meets all required guidelines in place by regulating bodies.
Valeda has undergone rigorous testing for output and beam profiling to ensure that technical parameters remain within the designated safety window. Valeda delivers multi-wavelength PBM treatment including 590 nm, 660 nm and 850 nm.
What is Photobiomodulation?
Photo-bio-modulation [light-cell-modulation]: Photobiomodulation (PBM) involves the use of visible light to near infrared light (NIR) (500-1000 nm) produced by a laser or a non-coherent light source applied to tissue to induce beneficial effects in a wide range of disease states.
This light source is very safe to use on the eye and has shown to have many benefits, especially in the slowing down the progression of age related macula degeneration.
