What Is The Treatment Procedure?

Baseline Consultation.

As a matter of interest to you as a patient we would like to conduct a full baseline assessment. This is a full dilated eye examination with an OCT scan to get the most up to date results on where your eye health is at present.

Once this assessment is complete we can then discuss whether Valeda Light Therapy is the correct route for you.

This also allows us to compare your future results after you have had the treatment. Our aim is to provide you with every opportunity to get the best outcomes.

The Base Line Assessment Consists of:

-
Taking a full detailed history of your eye and overall physical health, any concerns you may be having about your eyes and any history of eye disease within your family

-
Where possible, a full screening before the exam consisting of intraocular pressures, digital retinal photography, auto refraction and corneal thickness measurement to help determine your current eye prescription and risks for glaucoma, all conducted by the Optometrist.

-
An OCT scan on both eyes, taking in total 6 different scans alongside a digital retinal photograph. A complete explanation of the results with reasons for any follow ups that may be required.

-
Access to a corneal topographer if required, to investigate any conditions such as keratoconus.

-
Full focimetry of current and previous spectacles to help determine an accurate prescription.

-
Fields test for patients of 40 years of age ( or otherwise required for further investigation), if possible to do so.

-
A dilated fundus examination and a full slit lamp assessment to determine the overall health of the eye both anterior and posterior.

-
A full refraction with a digital phoropter with binocular balancing and near reading addition where required.

-
A comparison between your current and new prescription to see if there is any meaningful change for assurance and peace of mind.

-
A detailed explanation of your eye examination, refraction and any follow ups that may be required.

-
A copy of your prescription at the end of the examination.

-
A discussion about the Valeda Light Therapy Treatment and whether this treatment is suitable for you with any concerns and questions you may have.
